The full suite of Vivaldi’s popular Classical Masterpiece “The Four Seasons” is scheduled for a live performance in the iconic Regent Theatre, Hokitika on Easter Saturday 19 April 2025. The Concert will start at 5.00pm.
The world-renowned all female Cathy Irons String Quartet will be making their first visit to Westland to perform Summer, Autumn, Winter & Spring.
This Concerto is a must for all Classical Music followers.
Each member of the Quartet will be performing with their highly valued Classical instruments comprising two Violins, a Viola and Cello totalling almost one thousand years in history. Their monetary value is priceless.
The first half of the programme will feature “The American” by the popular
romantic era composer Dvorak. This work is rarely performed in public but
is popular among avid radio listeners to networks like RNZ’s Concert FM.
British violinist Nigel Kennedy created music history in 1989 when he
recorded Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” with the English Chamber Orchestra. It
sold more than three million copies globally on immediate release, was No 1 on the Classical Music Charts for more than a year, & remains on the record books as the best-selling Classical recording of all time.
